Apprenticeship and Training

The Finishing Trades Institute of Western & Central NY offers innovative and exciting job training programs. It is governed by a board of trustees consisting of members of the IUPAT and the union’s signatory employers. We are recruiting and hiring apprentices for commercial painting, industrial painting, glazing and glazing work, drywall finishing, sign and display. Apprenticeships are high-quality, work-based training programs for those who want to develop a rewarding career. An apprenticeship gives you the chance to earn while you learn.

The program has a classroom component as well as fieldwork. Once you start as an apprentice you will work as a contractor learning in the field and you will be required to attend classes four weeks a year.
